Hi everyone! My name is Amber and I’m so excited to be traveling across the globe to California all the way from Scotland in the UK! At home, I am a university student studying Zoology and love being outdoors, getting stuck into all activities as well as exploring new places and meeting people from different backgrounds. I have a passion for all kinds of animals, big or small, and enjoy the excitement and unpredictability they bring.
Back in Scotland, we don’t have residential camps so I’m looking forward to a new experience and adventure coming to teach horseback riding to lots of new smiley faces! This summer I aim to develop the skills in children, not just through horse riding but in terms of confidence and team work as well as having the utter most fun with lots of laughter. I want to hear about the fun stories from previous summers as well as giving an unforgettable experience in camp this summer for stories to be spoken about in future years.
I regard myself as a fun and bubbly character who aims to bring laughter and a sense of achievement to camp as well as an approachable adult, giving sensible advice. I enjoy traveling, and exploring different areas of the world and generally have fun outdoors.
As you can see from the pictures, it is very cold and wet in Scotland so coming to California is going to be an incredible and different experience and an opportunity of a lifetime. Overall, I am excited to meet everyone, become a vital member of the camp staff and have lots of adventure stories to return back home with. I will see you all very soon!
